On December 4th, Deputy Minister of Economy Narek Teryan received Myanmar Pavilion’s sponsor and Deputy Commissioner General Ms. Levi Sap Nei Thang at the Armenia Pavilion.
Ms. Levi Sap Nei Thang, a successful entrepreneur, and the founder of Myanmar Bible Software expressed her endless appreciation to the Armenian culture, highlighting the role of Armenians in the development of early Christianity in Myanmar and mentioning the establishment of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Burma back in the 13th century.
During the meeting, Mr. Teryan and Ms. Levi Sap Nei Thang discussed the Armenian entry visa requirements for the citizens of Myanmar and the flow of tourism from Myanmar to Armenia. According to Ms. Levi Sap Nei Thang, Armenia is considered as the second most preferred tourism destination for the people of Myanmar and the country officials aim to support and increase the tourism programs to Armenia.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Teryan and Ms. Levi Sap Nei Thang confirmed that both parties are open to strengthening tourism opportunities between the two countries.
